ARKEOLOGI DAN SEJARAH SULAWESI SELATAN: Perspektif Ruang Sosial-Budaya

Abstract
Tulisan ini mencoba memaparkan potensi arkeologi selawesi selatan dalam konteks kajian ruang sosial budaya dari dimensi bentuk dan waktunya. terdapat beberapa tipe budaya masyarakat yang pernah menghuni wilayah Sulawesi selatan, seperti hunian-hunian paling awal di lembah sungai walennae, kebudayaan mikrolit khas yang berasosiasi dengan lukisan dinding serta pemanfaatan gua-gua alam sebagai hunian menyambung kronologi okupasi Sulawesi selatan. Lebih kemudian ekspansi kuno yang dilakukan oleh penutur Austronesia dari utara pembawa teknologi logam dan pertanian yang merupakan cikal bakal dari beberapa kedatuan besar seperti Luwu, Bone dan Wajo, hingga pada ekspansi modern yang dilakukan oleh orang-orang Eropa pada periode kolonial.
