Abstract

The prehistoric cave paintings in the Maros-Pangkep Karst Area are treasures and pride that need to be conveyed and preserved from generation to generation. However, the prehistoric cave paintings in this area are gradually experiencing a decline in quality. Before finding the proper way to inhibit the deterioration of these cave paintings, efforts must be made to develop an effective and efficient method of documentation, both in data collection and digital data updates for the prehistoric images at the cave sites in the Maros-Pangkep Karst Region. The main issues faced are the damage to the prehistoric cave paintings and the need for continuous monitoring of their condition. This research is conducted by collecting data using geodetic GPS and Total Station mapping instruments. The gathered data is then processed using the ArcGIS Online platform and visualized through ArcGIS Field Map, allowing the recording and updating of data to be done via smartphones. This method enables effective and efficient tracking and recording of prehistoric cave images, monitoring changes to the cave paintings over time. This study conducted measurements and recordings of cave images in Leang Pettae, along with the creation of cave maps. With the implementation of this method, it is hoped that the identification, monitoring, and preservation of prehistoric cave images at the cave sites in the Maros-Pangkep Karst Region can be facilitated


 


 


Gambar gua prasejarah di Kawasan Karst Maros-Pangkep merupakan kekayaan dan kebanggaan yang perlu tersampaikan dan dipertahankan dari generasi ke generasi. Namun, gambar-gambar gua prasejarah di Kawasan ini lambat laun mengalami proses penurunan kualitas, sebelum ditemukan cara tepat untuk menghambat penuruan kerusakan gambar gua prasejarah, perlu dilakukan upaya untuk mengembangkan metode pendokumentasian baik pengumpulan maupun pembaharuan data digital terhadap gambar-gambar prasejarah pada situs gua di Kawasan Karst Maros-Pangkep secara efektif dan efesien. Permasalahan pokok yang dihadapi adalah kerusakan gambar prasejarah dan kebutuhan akan pemantauan kondisi gambar secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen pemetaan dengan Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) dan Total Station. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah menggunakan platform ArcGIS Online dan divisualisasikan melalui ArcGIS Field Map, sehingga proses pencatatan maupun pembaharuan data dapat dilakukan melalui perangkat ponsel pintar. Metode ini memungkinkan pelacakan dan pencatatan gambar prasejarah secara efektif dan efisien, sebagai bentuk pemantauan perubahan gambar prasejarah dari waktu ke waktu. Dalam penelitian ini, telah dilakukan pengukuran dan pencatatan gambar-gambar gua di Leang Pettae, serta pembuatan denah gua. Dengan adanya metode ini, diharapkan dapat mempermudah identifikasi, pemantauan, dan pelestarian gambar-gambar prasejarah pada situs gua prasejarah di Kawasan Karst Maros-Pangkep.
